Of birds, bees and blossoms: October 2025

Green tips and bud swell has now given way to the happiest time of the year in the orchard. Each in their turn, the trees reveal the delicate beauty of their finest petals. The blueberries awake from their stoic slumber and announce the impending arrival of the new crop with an explosion of blooms.

The bees are beside themselves, exploring every flower, drinking the nectar and collecting the precious pollen. And spring sees the return of our precious King Parrotts!

There comes a time of year in every garden when words fail to do justice to the sublime beauty of nature, so I’ll let the birds, bees and blossoms speak for themselves.
